What Counts as Storm Damage?

North Texas storms damage roofs in more ways than hail. High straight-line winds lift and crease shingles, tornadoes tear off entire roof sections, falling trees and wind-driven debris puncture decking, and lightning can split rafters or start attic fires. Water follows every one of these breaches. If your roof took a hit from any of them, it needs a professional inspection, even if nothing looks wrong from the ground. For hail-specific damage, see our hail damage and restoration page.

Signs Your Roof Has Storm Damage

Some storm damage announces itself: missing shingles in the yard, a visible hole, water on the ceiling. The rest hides. Look for lifted or creased shingles, granules collecting in gutters, bent flashing or vents, sagging roof lines, and fresh water stains inside. Creased shingles are the one homeowners miss most; a shingle that lifted in the wind and settled back down has a broken seal and will leak in the next rain.

Storm Hit? Do This First

First, stay off the roof; storm-damaged decking fails without warning. Second, document everything from the ground and inside: photos of visible damage, the date of the storm, any leaks. Third, call us at 469-931-9867. If your roof is open to the sky, our team provides emergency tarping to stop further water damage before permanent repairs begin. Most insurance policies require prompt reporting of storm damage, so do not wait to see if a small leak gets worse.

We Work With Your Insurance Claim

Storm damage repair usually runs through your homeowner’s insurance, and the process goes better with an experienced roofer documenting the loss. T Rock inspects and photographs the damage, prepares a detailed scope of work, and meets your insurance adjuster on site so nothing gets missed. We have handled insurance restoration work across DFW for decades and build our estimates in the same Xactimate format adjusters use.

Backed by a Real Warranty

Every roof T Rock rebuilds is covered by our labor and workmanship warranty: lifetime on shingle roofs, 10 years on TPO, modified bitumen, and other systems. Combined with manufacturer material warranties and our RCAT license (#03-0619), your restored roof is protected by a company that has been here since 1959 and will be here when you need us.
